CarbonScape has a wide range of other products under development.
- An important by-product of the CarbonScape process is syngas that can be used to power the microwave generator.
- Other by-products of the CarbonScape process includes fine chemicals such oils, acids, aldehydes and ketones which may be separated and extracted. These bio-extracts comprise up to 10% of the dry weight of biomass and include acetone, furfural, acetone, levulinic acid, terpenes, guaiacol, acetic acid and methanol. There is a growing demand for biomass-derived chemicals such as these.
- CarbonScape has also developed a technology that can be used to extract essential oils from flowers, fruits and other plant materials that have numerous applications in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
- CarbonScape’s technology platform also includes plasma technology which can be used in a wide range of applications. These include landfill waste gasification, plasma scalpels and plasma torches.
